Today, Britton Lumber Company is proud and honored to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

Our company was founded in Hartland, Vermont in 1946 by the Britton family and originally operated both portable and stationary sawmills out of several locations. The Company relocated to Fairlee, Vermont in the early 1970s and in addition to operating an Eastern White Pine sawmill, expanded into wholesale distribution of building materials. The Company transitioned ownership to the Moses family in 2014 and currently operates its manufacturing division from Bath, New Hampshire and its wholesale distribution division from locations in Fairlee, Vermont and Gray, Maine.

We are grateful to our loyal customers and employees, past and present, that have and continue to support Britton Lumber.

Our mission statement – “To manufacture and distribute high quality products; develop and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships based on mutual respect and common goals; create a positive work environment where our employees can be part of a successful team and have the opportunity to achieve their financial and career goals; and to be a good corporate citizen, aware of our obligations to our communities and environment” – is as true today as it was 75 years ago.
