April 2019

To our Customers and Friends,

Britton Lumber is delighted to welcome the beginning of warmer weather and brighter colors. We thank you for your business and we look forward to providing you with your building materials throughout 2019 and beyond.

At our annual sales meeting held in January, we agreed that “Service” would be our overarching goal in 2019 to better serve our customers.  To that end, we are pleased to introduce a commitment to fixed delivery schedules from both our Fairlee, Vermont and Gray, Maine distribution centers.  We have established schedules that will allow us to deliver to every zone at least two times a week and to some busier zones as many as four times, while also leaving us flexibility to schedule additional “floater” trucks as needed.  Thanks to your commitment to Britton Lumber, we’ve been able to add additional drivers to our team and have on order new flatbed trailers and tractors to update and expand our fleet.

We are also investing in new technology to help serve our customers.  Our website was completely revamped earlier this year.  We encourage you to visit www.brittonlumber.com.  We are in the process of adding fiber optic lines to our Fairlee, Vermont facility in connection with a new telephone system so that we can transition our networks to the “cloud,” which in turn will allow us to add customer portals to our enterprise software system.  When ready, PartnerView will allow you secure access to review a wide variety of information online at any time of the day.

At our Eastern White Pine sawmill located in Bath, New Hampshire, we built a new sawdust storage building and added a higher speed resaw in 2018.  After two years of substantial renovations and improvements, our sawmill employees are looking forward to a break from construction.  We are proud of our recent improvements in Bath and always look forward to giving tours of our facility.  Please contact any of our sales team to arrange a visit and tour.

We are very pleased that both Brian and John Moses joined Britton Lumber in 2018.  Brian is currently a product manager for OSB and Softwood Plywood Products and has Outside Sales responsibility for South Central New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  John is based in our Bath, New Hampshire manufacturing facility and is working in all aspects of sales and operations.  Ian Girdwood also joined our inside sales team in 2018 after his graduation from St. Lawrence University and Cameron Rogers, who interned with us last summer, has agreed to join our inside sales team later this year after his graduation from Plymouth State University.  Please join us in welcoming Brian, John, Ian and Cameron to the building materials industry.

We appreciate and thank you for your loyalty to Britton Lumber Company.

Sincerely,

Bob Moses
